What types of steel tubing does Valmont produce?

Valmont Tubing produces mechanical steel tubing that is electric resistance welded (ERW) in sizes up to 12.75" OD round, up to 6.00" square and in our 2.00" x 3.00" rectangle size. Valmont also produces tubing that is submerged arc welded (SAW) and is produced to ASTM specification A252 in 12.375", 14.00" and 16.00" OD round sizes,  . Please refer to our on-line steel tubing product catalog for Valmont Tubing for a listing of specific sizes of tubing produced in each of our standard shapes.

What standard shapes does Valmont Tubing produce?

Valmont Tubing produces round tubing up to 16", square tubing ranging from 1.00" up to 6.00" and rectangle tubing in a 2.00" x 3.00" size. Please refer to our steel tubing product catalog on this site for specific sizes.

Is Valmont capable of producing special shapes?

Valmont has a strong reputation for our willingness to look at unique sizes and special shapes that other mills are not. Valmont Tubing has produced shapes such as oval tubing, D shaped tubing, bowtie shaped tubing, and peanut shaped tubing among other shapes for unique customer requirements. Please contact the Valmont sales staff if you have such needs. They will work in conjunction with our engineering department to determine capabilities and tooling costs.

What type of finishes does Valmont Tubing offer?

Valmont produces steel tubing in hot rolled, hot rolled pickled & oiled, cold rolled, pregalvanized, hot dip galvanized, aluminized finishes along with stainless 409. Please refer to our steel tubing product catalog on this site for specific finish options based upon OD and wall thickness combinations or inquire for specific capability questions that may fall outside of those shown.

What type of chemistries does Valmont Tubing produce?

Valmont Tubing is capable of producing ultra low carbon chemistries up to ultra high strength chemistries and a multitude of chemistries in between. Valmont as a standard produces chemistries such as 1006, 1008, 1010, 1015, 1020, 1021, 1026 and up to 1030. Valmont also produces tubing utilizing weathering steel grade (A606 chemistry) and high strength, low alloy (HSLA). Please inquire with our sales staff for specific requirements.

Is Valmont Tubing ISO Certified?

Valmont Tubing is certified to ISO 9001 for the manufacture of welded steel tubing / pipe and products fabricated from tubing / pipe. This certification covers the welded tubing up to 16" round and square and rectangle sizes up to 6.00".

What value added services does Valmont offer?

Valmont offers our secondary cutting, hot dip galvanizing, painting, bending, hole drilling, special packaging and other specialized fabrication as required. Please inquire with specific value added services needs that you may have.

What ASTM specifications does Valmont Tubing produce steel tubing to?

Valmont is capable of producing steel tubing to several different ASTM specifications depending upon the end use that the tubing will be used in, the type of weld and the finish of tubing. Valmont produces tubing to the following ASTM specifications along with both destructive and non-destructive testing:
