How are grooves put into the fire sprinkler pipe?

The grooves depth and location of the pipe are manufactured to meet Victaulic specifications. Grooves are added before the lacquer coating process. Hot dip galvanized pipe is produced as a plain end with grooves added in the field after the pipe is hot dip galvanized.
